Ongoing investment in Epping sees the Deveny Road extension now open!
The transformation of Epping as a key metropolitan activity centre continues, with the Deveny Road extension now open. A crucial connectivity improvement for New Epping and the wider area, the road links High Street and Edgars Road, future proofing the infrastructure for its growing population.
Creating a new sense of convenience for the locals, businesses and visitors, Deveny Road will look to ease traffic on Cooper Street, as well as providing a gateway to the newly opened Costco.
With the launch of Costco’s third site in Victoria, it was imperative to enhance the area’s infrastructure to cater to the traffic utilising the chain’s petrol station, tyre outlet, bottle shop, hearing centre and optometrist. In an exciting time for Melbourne’s north, the emergence of Costco has created around 300 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs.
Already within enviable distance of Pacific Epping Shopping Centre, public transport and The Northern Hospital, New Epping will include a seven-hectare health and wellbeing precinct, childcare facilities, and a diverse mix of residential, commercial, recreation and hospitality options for residents, creating the ultimate healthy living hub.
With an abundance of infrastructure either proposed or currently underway, and with Northern Hospital about to commence a $160 million expansion for the fast-growing northern growth corridor, this key metropolitan activity centre is cementing itself as a bustling hub ripe with opportunity.
Following the official opening of Deveny Road, New Epping is now positioned with direct access to three major roads, supporting strong connectivity for our future community.
Add to this the seamless link to Melbourne’s major arterials such as the Hume Highway that are gateways to the wider city including Melbourne Airport, New Epping is an exciting opportunity for businesses looking to locate and capitalise on the growth of the area.
