We’re pleased to announce a new Early Learning Centre is now under construction at 21 Greengate Way, bringing 125 much-needed child care places to Melbourne’s rapidly growing north and further expanding the amenity available to New Epping workers and residents.
Purpose-designed for children from infancy through to kindergarten, the centre will feature specialised learning environments tailored to different stages of early childhood development. Dynamic indoor and outdoor spaces will support play-based learning, creativity and exploration, while helping foster children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth.
Delivered by building contractor Carelli Constructions, the new centre will become part of Riverlee’s growing New Epping community, which brings together health, commercial, retail, residential and community services in one connected precinct.
Set to open mid 2027, the Early Learning Centre will support families in one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing corridors, where demand for accessible early learning services continues to increase.
In fast-growing areas like Melbourne’s north, access to childcare close to home and work is becoming increasingly important to how modern families live and work. The new Early Learning Centre will also provide a major convenience for the growing healthcare workforce within the nearby New Epping Health Hub, supporting workers with greater access to care close to their workplace.
New Epping is located within the City of Whittlesea, one of Australia’s fastest-growing municipalities, with a population estimated at 259,759 as of 30 June 2025 after growing 2.9 per cent over the previous year, compared to 1.97 per cent across Greater Melbourne¹. As more families move into the area, access to local early learning infrastructure remains an important part of supporting that growth. Nationally, more than 1.5 million children attended subsidy-approved childcare in the December quarter of 2025², reflecting the increasing importance of services that support families during the critical early years of child-raising.
Riverlee Development Director David Lee said the addition of childcare to New Epping plays a broader role in supporting the needs of a fast-growing community.
