The New Epping Health Hub (NEHH) continues to grow as a leading healthcare destination for Melbourne’s north, with Lumus Imaging announced as the newest addition to its network of specialist healthcare providers.
Located within the state-of-the-art, six-storey New Epping Medical building, Lumus Imaging has signed a long-term lease for a second location, adding 820-square-metre space facility, with a focus on women’s health that will deliver PET scans, CT scans and a range of diagnostic services including breast biopsy, contrast enhanced mammography and MRI. Directly connected to the Northern Private Hospital and adjoining the Northern Public Hospital, the addition strengthens the NEHH’s vision of a fully integrated, health, healing and innovation precinct.
With more than 30 years of cancer screening expertise, a national network of 150 centres, and over three million examinations performed each year, Lumus delivers advanced imaging technology with a focus on quality and timely access.
Cancer is the leading cause of mortality in Victoria and the number of new cancer diagnoses per year is anticipated to reach 51,000 people by 2036[1]. The Victorian Cancer Plan 2024–2028 places renewed emphasis on screening and early detection, and the new Lumus Imaging centre supports this goal by providing greater access to diagnostic services for Melbourne’s Northern Growth Corridor.
Anchored by Ramsay Health Care’s $133 million Northern Private Hospital, the Northern Public Hospital, and Icon Cancer Centre, the New Epping Health Hub is emerging as a connected ecosystem of healthcare providers designed to meet the growing needs of Melbourne’s outer north and the future of the Northern Health Precinct.
Ben Rowe, Project Director, Riverlee, said:
“The strength of the New Epping Health Hub lies in bringing together complementary services that support patients across every stage of their healthcare journey. Welcoming Lumus Imaging not only adds vital diagnostic capability, but also reinforces our vision of a connected, sustainable precinct where healthcare and wellbeing are at the heart of the community.”
Dr Phil Lucas, Chief Executive Officer, Lumus Imaging said:
“At Lumus Imaging, our mission is to make high-quality medical imaging accessible to communities across Australia,” said Phil Lucas, CEO of Lumus Imaging. “We’re proud to extend this commitment to Melbourne’s northern suburbs, providing access to world-class diagnostic services, including mammography and MRI, delivered with compassion and expertise. This new centre complements our existing sites, including Lumus Imaging Northern Private Hospital.”
Lumus Imaging expands New Epping’s offerings, reinforcing the precinct’s status as one of Melbourne’s most significant mixed-use developments. The $2 billion investment spans healthcare, residential, commercial and retail sectors, while delivering critical infrastructure to support a growing community.
